It is located on a hill in the Pratomagno mountain range (1592 mt. elevation) which is located to the sought of the Valdarno, between Florence and Arrezo. This beautiful area is a branch of the Appenines and very suitable for enjoying the natural surroundings and taking walks. In the area there are archaeological digs near a castle and the cities of Florence and Arezzo are worth the effort of a visit. The La Ripa apartment is simply furnished. It dates from 1865 when Florence was briefly the capital of the newly created Italian State. There are a number of renovated apartments and cottages in the complex. The apartments are full of atmosphere and boast antique furniture. Guests are free to enjoy the attractive little park and its terrace. The holiday homes are ideally placed for visiting Florence. The world famous Ponte Vecchio is only a 25 minute walk away. The complex is in a quieter area with far more atmosphere than a typical city apartment.

There is a delightful walking route near the farmhouse. You can stroll amongst grapes, figs, blackberries and raspberries. If youre fortunate, the fruit will be ready to eat. The apartment has very high ceilings which create a wonderful feeling of spaciousness. There is an area with garden furniture at the entrance to the house. You can relax here over a glass of wine. The apartment is in a Palazzo in a very pleasant area. Many famous people used to live here and visit the thermal baths. These included Napoleons sister, Puccini, Verdi, Strauss and Liszt. Bagna di Lucca was a favourite destination of European aristocracy during the 19th century. Restoration of the old thermal baths is taking place next to the apartment. The modern spa resort of Bagna di Lucca is half an hours walk away. It can be reached by walking through Via dellAmore, The street of love. In fact, the apartment is in one of the streets leading to the very famous Duomo Square which is only a hundred metres away. In Duomo square you can see the cathedral, climb up into its dome for an extremely beautiful view of Florence and admire the Giotto tower, etc. Florence abounds in works of art! And the location of the accommodation means that you can reach places of interest easily: the Uffizi Museum, Ponte Vecchio, San Lorenzo market and Pitti Palace.
There are a number of shops in the same street as the apartment, and it is served by several bus routes (useful for getting to the train station, for example).

In the heart of Toscana, surrounded by the magnificent hills and situated between Florence and Arezzo you will find the village Peccioli.
